Scientific programme

The upcoming Microscopy Conference 2027 at Dresden is largely based on the well-established format of recent meetings in the series. The scientific sessions and exhibition will take place from Monday through Thursday. And on the Sunday before, workshops are again offered in the run-up to the conference. A few minor changes were, however, made to the overall structure of the programme:

Parallel session in MS and IM

The programme will again focus on three core areas of electron microscopy, namely materials science (MS), life science (LS), and instrumentation & methods (IM). In recent years, however, only a limited number of slots were available for oral presentations. This had significantly lowered the chances for getting an abstract accepted for a contributed talk, specifically in MS and IM. At the MC2027, we will therefore for the first time hold two parallel sessions each in MS and IM. This way, we will be able to more than double the slots for contributed talks!

yDGE symposium

In order to support and strengthen the activities of young researchers in the field, a symposium organized by the DGE young microscopists, yDGE, will be incorporated into the normal daytime schedule (rather than holding it as an evening event).

After work gathering

On Monday and Tuesday, we plan to offer after-work gathering events right after the poster sessions in the courtyard of the Messe Dresden. These will encourage personal conversations and casual get-togethers in a relaxed atmosphere.
